Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) nv4500 bachup switch location

where on the trans is it located?



the only electrical connections seem to be on the top just in front of the shift tower, and at the rear, drivers side, but this location doesn't resemble the switch I bought fron the dealer.

i think thats it. i bought one from a dealer and they gave the one for the automatic trucks. said they couldnt find one for a stick. i got mine from quad 4x4.

WilkinsJ, the back up switch is on driverside up by shift tower. You will need 22 mm deep socket to take it out.



Buy some contact cleaner with lubricant and contact cleaner that dries.



Home Depot carries CRC brand it will work fine.



Spray the ball with the contact cleaner lubricant, you can use this on the connectors also, then spray connectors with the contact cleaner that dries.

This brought mine back to life and it is still working plus it will save you sixty plus bucks.



P. S. Push ball in and out so lubricant can get to contacts inside of swtich.

i think i only paid like 20 but that was a LONG time ago. id try the cheap way first
