Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Nv4500 Breakdown

Two gears inside my 2000 Nv4500 5 speed went the hell on friday. (67,800 miles) One on the Input Shaft and One on the Counter Shaft. Box Was on 3 under some throttle and the truck made a loud thump then went Away. Did it again a few times the next mile. I Knew something was wrong when down shifting, the stick had a bad vibration. Anyways I Installed the New Usb Bell Turbo later that day thinking the noise was a bad U-joint or tipical dodge front end noise. Took the truck out for a test ride and the noise got worst. Thought it was the clutch. Tore it down to find 2 bad gears. Clutch was on it way out also. Just wondring if anyone has broke some gears under 500 hp (not sled pulling) just street driving. Anyways got a new transmission rebuild and A New SOUTH BEND Clutch out of the deal

I lost 3rd gear on my NV4500 at 135kmi. I do tow a toyhauler 5th whl thru sand at Pismo but it broke street driving months later. I got a NV5600 and a South Bend clutch out of the deal.

I broke a couple of teeth on the fifth gear clutch hub. At the same time, I had to replace the mainshaft, fifth gear, countershaft fifth gear, and countershaft.

Not too kind to the wallet.

JJ Were always down in pismo also. I pull a 26 toy hauler all over the place. Pismo, Sand Mountain NV, Oregon. I know when i'm plowing through sand it's got to be hard on the transmission. Oh Well i think I'm harder on the transmission not pulling, but mobin around the dunes. Anyways were going to Pismo On Pres. Weekend Big Group You Going? Later
