i lost all my instructions and i need the instructions to install my NV4500. the problem is the rear cross member that goes under the trans. they gave me this steel and i ain't got a clue what to do with it. i don't want to get the trans. in and have to sit there with a grinder cutting the steel to make it fit..... (i heard the trans. was heavy)

So if anybody has there instruction from Quad 4x4 and has a 2x4 and did the getrag to NV4500 please help.

i heard the trans. was heavy

More than just a rumor.....

Yes by all means call Quad for help. Let them send the instructions again and talk you thru it. I'm sure you paid for that service.

Good luck.

I did the NV4500HD swap into my 2 by '93. I fashioned a rear mount out of channel iron and spacers. I also used 2 rear mount pieces from the '94 model year to fix the rear of the transmission to the rear support. This allowed me to run my exhaust pipe straight back to the tailpipe. The NV4500HD weighs 190 lbs. empty so you will need a transmission jack to get the job done. You will also need to shorten the driveline 6. 5 inches. While you got everything apart call Peter at South Bend Clutch - his Con-O is an awesome unit to transfer power to the transmission. If you need more info PM me. Good luck

One more thing you will need an adapter to mate the speedo from the NV to the old eletronic sender. Otherwise your speedo will show you going over twice as fast as you really are.

well guys it is 9:00 p. m. and the trans. is in!!!!!!!

all i have to do now is get the drive line shortened. i got a trans. jack from my dad's friend from work. the hardest part was getting the trans. on the jack under the truck. took my dad's jack out of his truck and my brand new floor jack and jacked it up on the trans. jack. Now my hand is all blody slipping... . i was very intertaining for my dad to watch ( he helped sometimes) and i found my papers (under a pile of books and papers) well u guys are great!!!!!!! ur all like seconded dads (hmmm... . i think i'm getting too many second dad's, EVERYBOUDY WANTS ME!!!!!)

if ya ever gotta do it again, I figured out a trick to the whole transmission thing... I just put a clutch in my truck... I laid the trans on the transmission jack on its side, strapped it down, and wheeled it under the truck... then while under the truck, loosened the strap and stood it up the right way on the jack... a little cumbersome, but not bad at all!!!!
