Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) NV4500 input shaft?

Is the updated 1 3/8 NV4500 input shaft the same as 1 3/8 used in the stock NV5600?

Yes, swap a 6 speed flywheel on there too and you can use the correct 13'' disk with 1 3/8'' input shaft for the 01-up HO 6 speed trucks.

Does the input shaft retainer cover have to be changed to?

I want to know more about this too before I go out and spend 800 bucks on something I can possibly get off the shelf for less than half of that. Is the NV4500 input that everyone sells just a New Venture part?
