I recently had my transmission rebuilt & it is working great. The guy who rebuilt it filled it up with GM oil & told me that it was the same oil that Dodge uses in the NV4500. I asked if I needed any special additives... . he said no, but I just have to make sure. What fluid is working best for smoothest shifts... Amsoil, Castrol Syntorque? Any help is appreciated.

Noticed one of the PTO covers had the oil spec. I Forget all the exact wording but it mentioned Syntorque, and provides part numbers for both GM and Chrysler right there on the on the decal.

Had good luck with the Royal purple 75-85 gear lube. (... or was it 75-90??)

I have their Syncromax manual trans oil in now, but there seems to be a bit more rattle at low rpm, but not as much as a ZF 6spd :) I'll keep it for a while, but it just doesnt seem as thick as the regular gear oil, so I might switch back before hauling much this summer.
