Chrysler does NOT install aftermarket fully splined main shafts. I even asked if they would install it, while it was apart, when my bearings went out in my NV4500 (under warranty) They said NO. So I rebuilt it myself!!! Probably better I did it anyways because I upgraded the clutch at the same time.
In my humble opinion, you will get between 100k to 150k before the fifth gear nut falls off, depending on how you drive the truck. If it falls off under warranty, a dealer told me they just replace the old nut with the “new” one and send you on your way. They don't actually do it at the dealer, I was told, but the company who has the contract to rebuild the trannys does it that way.
I personally know a person that put the "new" nut on his truck with 110k on the truck. The new nut fell off 10k miles later. He has since gone with the aftermarket shaft.
Hope this helps...
