nv4500 new in 93 makes grawl when on it why

my 93 has a nv 4500 new , when i go over about 10 lbs boost in 5 th a get a gwawl
or vibartion
mainly does it in 2nd going up steep hills
w/ any thing greater then light boost.
new center draveshaft support,
can make it do it in any gear, w/ over 10 lbs boost
could it be u joints?

Mine growls in fifth gear also; but I do not have any vibration associated with it however.

My '93 2 by will "rattle" in 4th and 5th from about 1700 to 1800 rpm and is more pronounced when I'm towing. I've got no unusual vibration - I have had the driveline rebuilt including the center carrier bearing. The slip yoke was also replaced. Hope this helps.

Mine does the same thing in 4th and 5th,mainly in 4th at low rpm when I mash on it. The bearings are making the growling noise,or so I was told. Your better off stepping on the go pedal at a higher RPM.

My Getrag does the same thing when I am pulling hard towing my boat if 5 gear. I have the Banks package. I think that it is the hormonics that are set up under this condition. My truck only has 84000 miles on it. It may even be that Banks Muffler. Mark

Have you checked your exhaust system ? At the transmission cross member the exhaust doesn't have much room. IF the exhaust pipe is touching or almost touching the frame it will make noise & vibration like you are talking about. When the pipe makes contact with the truck it amplify the noise big time. If the pipe is close, but not touching it might be making contact when you put a load on i. e. 4th or 5th gear. Hope this helps, hate to see a new NV4500 with problems.

well it too does it in any gear
over about 10lbs boost did not do new
has only 8 k miles on it

not so much vibration , but a grawl
when i step on it to pull hills on fwy
it does it if i back off to less then 10
lbs then no noise, it must be a u joint?
