Nv4500 noise .

The nv4500 is starting to growl in 2nd and 3rd I’m going to change the oil and filter . 70,000 miles since I sent shrapnel from 5th and revere through the whole thing so I don’t feel too bad about it starting to make a little noise . Thinking about putting about half a quart of Lucas in with the new oil I always run 5 quarts of oil in the transmission is it a good idea or not .

I would drain the oil and see what it looks like, also inspect the filter. If it has a growl, new oil will not fix it. I never overfill a gear box.

The only reason I drained it was to see if there was any chunks

Finally got a minute to pull the filter and the magnets I had in the bottom of the case magnets had some shavings but no chunks in the case and no metal in the filter either put it back together and keep running it .

I didn’t know about the videos but I’ve have been buying parts from him for 15 or 20 years for these things he used to have quite a few parts he doesn’t have now but still a good place to get parts I normally go to Dan first when I need something for an nv4500
