who does the best job at rebuilding these. lets say within 1000miles of oregon. also who has the best fix for the 5th gear nut problem. thanks.

I get the best information and the best service from Dan at Quad 4X4. I'm not sure how far away he is from Oregon, but you can get new transmissions, rebuilt transmissions and parts. Be sure to upgrade the pilot bearing while you are at it.

I bought my 96 dodge from "little John" years back (his personal rig). Straight forward and as honest as I think you'll find, bar none. I have yet to meet a single person that has anything bad to say about their shop. Most make it a point to praise their satisfaction with their service. They are factory trained cummins and Detroit service techs as well.

They will rebuild your existing transmission with all the upgraded parts to make it last another roll of the speedo or better.

Wish I was there right now, Alabama is a hard adjustment coming from Montana. (we're stationed at Maxwell AFB now).

well dans shop is 1180 miles from home. i might just see what it costs to ship and deal with the down time. just had this thing out 2 weeks ago. oh well, that what owning an awsome engine will do to ya. thanks guys.

btw, i have a hd bearing that peter (sbc) hooked me up with. much beefier that the stock pilot.
