NV4500 short shifter

Just bought a '96 this weekend and was very surprised at how wide the throws are with than NV4500. Probably partially because I've got a short shifter on my '01 5600, but the gate spacing of the 4500 still seems wider than I remember the 5600 being stock. Anyway, going to look at throwing a short shifter on this one - has anyone on here run a short shifter on an NV4500? If so, how did you like it? If it tightens up the shifts and repositions the shifter the way the short shift kit did on my '01, I'll be more than happy. Thanks.

To me the short shifter is a thing for the user to judge. I've installed some and did not care for um. The throw in the 6 speed is shorter than a five, 'causing the spacing in the five to be wider. I've gotten use to the five speed but do like the 6.

It's my understanding the short shifters are made for 98 plus trucks.



Otherwise I'd definately put one on also.
