Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) KDP question

Will the transfer case off a NV4500 (NV241HD I think) bolt onto a NV5600. In other words, are the transfer cases interchangeable between the two transmissions???

Just an fyi

there are two 241's . . the 241HD has different output shaft size than the 241LD used on the 2500 auto's and standard duty. . the 2500 heavy duty's have the 241HD... did I confuse you :)

I have a 241HD and was just planning ahead "Just in case". As you know, NV5600's were very new in '99 and I have the NV4500, BUT I always have my eyes open for options... If the 5th gear nut ever hits me I think I will try to convert to a 6 spd, instead of fooling around with fully splined super wazoo etc. etc. 5spd. In the end it is still just a NV4500...

yet more confusing...

i have a '99 ISB "2500HD" with the standard duty T-case, at least according to the tag on the T-case itself. so be careful, it looks like not all the heavy duty trucks with the V10 or Cummins got the 241HD case.

The 241HD was standard on 3500HD's and a $100 option on 2500HD's for model years 1999, 2000, & 2001 according to Ram sales brochures.

oooops I knew that . . don't know why I said they were standard on the 2500HD's  [ I'm so embarrassed] . . thanks for correcting me
