The NV4500 is pretty straightforward to build, but be sure they use the fully splined mainshaft. I have used Standard Transmission in Fort Worth, TX. Somehave reported using Blumenthal's in OK with good results.

I went with Blumenthal's a couple years ago with great results. I explained I'm running quite hi hp. so they dynode it to 1000 hp. I was a few days late in getting it and they said the first one came apart around 900 hp. and they built another one that has been bullet proof.

Are you sure that was hp and not torque?

I think the parts all come from the same place, off-shore. I would inquire about the real differences between standard rebuild and high-hp special builds.

They assured me everything is made in USA. including the fully splined mainshaft. They said they bought up and hold the largest inventory of oem NV4500 parts.

I didn't mean to imply the mainshaft was oem, was talking about gears bearings, syncros, etc.

Also, just checked my receipt again and that price of 2k included $500. core. After my refund I was only out $1500.

The main problem I've had is synchros allstate gear sells all China parts and I've never had Any problems only with synchros even spent a lot more and got OEM from quad 4x4 and only ran dodge oil still they didn't last but I think some of it is because of wore out clutch slave and master cylinder

So my buddy bought a new 2013 3500 cummins and sold me his old 98 he helped me drag it home . He said it was stuck in reverse wouldn't shift at all well I found out why the bolts had come out of the shift tower went to ace hardware and got 4 new flange head bolts put it together and works good as new

That was an expensive lesson for him. Good one for you.

Ya I looked the cab and said do you know where the bolts are for this he said what bolts I didn't take any out . He was still ok with the deal we made on it though so I shouldn't feel bad about it
