Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) NV5600 Direct drive question

direct drive means it is a 1:1 ratio... essentially whatever speed your engine is turning, I. E. 2,000 rpm, your input shaft and output shaft (driveshaft) are turning the exact same RPM. whereas if you were in 6th with, say a 25% OD ratio your output shaft and driveshaft would be turning your RPM's x1. 25%... hope this makes sense. . I will make a more elaborate post when I get home today... I can only type so much on my phone's tiny keyboard before it gets annoying. .

Yes C. Harlan is correct, 5th gear is a direct drive in the NV5600. Power is still flowing through the countershaft because it is in constant mesh with the head gear on the mainshaft (6th).
