Need help locating 4" Resonator SS

1992 donor 4 sale

I purchased a take-out NV5600 transmission from a 1999 4x4. When the Getrag 360 let go, I started working on the conversion. The 1. 25" x 10-spline input shaft is longer than the Getrag by about one inch. When I tried to pull the transmission up to the block, it bottomed out with a one inch gap remaining.

I think the flywheel for the 1999 must be different, because this transmission came out of a '99. Can anyone confirm this? Will the '99 flywheel bolt up to my crankshaft? Any differences in engine balancing?

I have to get past this problem before I even consider, transfer case shifter, crossmember, driveshaft mods. Heck, I can't even see the light at the end of the tunnel. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Gil

Adapter plate problem

I think the problem is in the engine to transmission adapter plate, you may need the one from the 99. Others have stated needing to purchase an adapter plate from standard transmission when converting a 1st gen. to 5spd. so the same should apply to the 6spd. Others with more knowledge will chime in for confirmation.

Transmission Adapter Plate p/n 4874537

What is this Transmission Adapter? Does it act as a spacer to move the transmission back about 1"? If so, I don't see why I would need to replace the clutch, flywheel & starter. My NV5600 input shaft matches the existing clutch, its just too long by about an inch +. Thanks

The company called Blumenthals has the conversion input shaft to correct the problem. They have turned the spline back to fix the clearence problem.

Blumenthals does not do NV5600s

Thanks, Peter, but I called them and they do not do a conversion input shaft for the NV5600. Don said that I need to order an engine adapter for a '97 or '98 to mate my NV5600 to the '93 12 valve. Does anyone know if the part number 4874537 is the right part? Thanks, Gil
