I was browsing the auto section at Wal-Mart and can across a new discovery. I found quart bottles of GM 5W-30 Manual Transmission Fluid. The number listed on the bottle was: 1#1052931, off to the side it also listed : Gr 8. 800. Anyone know if the part number from this GM MTF cross references the stuff Dodge recommends for the 6sp??I know on the 5 speeds the Castrol Syntorq lube can be purchased from either Dodge or GM and was wondering if the same applied to the 6sp.
Side note, Don't know how much they run. The clerk scanned a qt bottle and the registered said "item not found". She went and talked to the guy who does the ordering for the auto dept and he said it can only be sold in a box (by the case) and not individually
As luck would have it the box was nowhere to be found. I made the comment of "Looks like you won't be selling any of these since you no longer have the box they came in". Funny thing is there was only 8 qts on the shelf, where did the other 4 go?? (assuming a box/case is still 12 qts)
If this stuff is the same Texico lube Dodge recommends I'll go back and pursue talking to the manager or someone and see about purchasing them. Since I have never seen this lube at Wally World before (and it's not showing up in the register as an inventory item) maybe it was mistakenly ordered and I can convience them to let me take it off thier hands for a cheap price
