Archived NV5600 OIL Lube

I have been trying to do a search to see what lube is the best for a 2000 with the nv5600 6 speed. I am wanting something that will handle warm and relatively cold (-15) weather. Plus i hear there is additives most people run with gear lube.

NV5600 Oil

AMSOIL has a the following for the NV5600 product# MTFQT Synthetic Synchromesh Transmission Fluid (5W-30). It work very well for your application. Good luck.

Im running Penzoil syncromesh in my nv5600 it meets Dodge specs and I have had no problems.

I have had good results in shiftability etc. with Torco RTF (racing transmission fluid).

I've heard that redline MTL works very well. i'm going to try either that, or the amsoil MTF soon.

I've used Redline MTL since almost new a so far it is good. I noticed better shifting as soon as I changed to it. I'm at 180,000 km and I tow fairly heavy a lot of the time.

I run Amsoil Synthetic Synchromesh Transmission fluid it shifts like butter now!!

I ran Royal Purple for about 25k in my 2004. 5, no problems either with heating or in cold weather. Also heard good reports on Redline and Pennzoil.

I ran the stock fluid until the last change (not avail) and switched to the Pennzoil synchromesh. I ran her in -17 below for several days, no issues at all.

I personally will use synthetics where appropriate, I do not feel it necessary in this application.

i've been using Redline MTL {7qts. with FAST coolers} as well as an 8oz. bottle of PROLONG Transmission Treatment... . this has worked EXTREMELY well for over 100,000 miles... . i currently have 219,000 on the truck,i would have to check my records to know for sure when i changed over..... the difference was like night and day. !!!! I've ran Redline, Pennzoil, Royal Purple, and Amsoil...



The RP was the worst... you can search my user name and royal purple... you'll find the thread.



The pennzoil performed like, well, a stock fluid.



The Redline and Amsoil fluids are very close... but it seems I will need to change fluid every 10-15k due to it becoming "notchy" again...
