Would any of you happen to have your stock shifter laying around?

I'd like an accurate diameter measurement on the lower ball.

I'm going to make a tighter tolerance bronze piece to engage the mechanism in the transmission to take up some of the slop, and need to figure out my tooling. ... and I'd rather only take it apart once.

I Will look for it tomorrow. I have moved but have a good idea where it might be. Or maybe someone else will post what you need.

MK, does your making a tighter bushing have anything to do with a possible buzzing from the BD short shifter? My BD buzzes when driving but the stock does not. If I lift up slightly on the BD the buzz goes away. Thanks AL

I had a short shifter. I finaly took it out and went back to stock. The trans shifted really bad. It was sloppy and notchy feeling. Not to mention the trans noise. I feel the stock shifter is much better and the short shifter did not make that much of a difference anyway. Just my. 02

The diameter of the ball is . 620 on the original shifter that I removed. The truck had about 70k when I installed the short shifter. Hope that helps if you need any other dimension it's now easy to get now that I found it.

Thank you sir!

Exactly what I needed.

No buzzing, actually now that you mention it, this piece will probably transmit more noise - I just don't like how sloppy the stock plastic piece is.
