Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) NV5600 shifter ball insert spins?

Has anyone had problems with the "6 speed" shifter ball pattern indicator spinning?



It is difficult to move but it will spin around several times in a day if I spend all day driving.



Is there anyway to remove the thing and glue it in there so it does not spin? The ball does not move. Just the disk inside the ball.



I have not tried to pry it out yet..... I did not want to risk damaging it.



It just looks cheap... I had someone comment on it the other day... ... .

Shifter Spin

Use a small screwdriver to pry the center out. A tiny dab of Elmers on a toothpick applied in the groove will keep it where you want it. Mine hasn't move since doing this. Don't need to glue the whole rim.
