Looking for the best source to find quality internal parts for the NV5600 Trans. I need to replace my input shaft due to a pilot bearing / clutch hub failure, and while in there I decided to go ahead and replace any bearing I put my hands on, Seems like she needs main-shaft and counter-shaft bearings, speed gear rollers look good, main-shaft ball bearing is toast, reverse synchro is toast ( my guess is from fighting the dragging input shaft, going in to the 1-2 tonight to check because 5-6 look great. I need to find a reputable source for: Bearings, Seals, Synchros, Shim Kit, etc.. Good news is other than the input shaft I think I caught this before any other real damage occurred.. I suspect is has been missing the pilot brg for about a year now (thats when I started to notice a subtle vibration that got progressively worse), I never thought the vibration was the clutch! Anyway I think it speaks volumes about how robust this T/M is to run w/o a pilot bearing towing 23K and not give up!

Thanks in advance!

Also Standard Transmission and Gear in Ft. Worth, TX. They offer their power lube package that will improve oil flow to the mainshaft bearings.

Thanks! I am talking with Dave at Blumenthal, he seems very knowledgeable, yes they will sell parts, but given my schedule and specialty tool inventory ( hahaha) I am considering just sending it to them to have it re-assembled...

Standard rebuilt mine on my 03, the same deal I tore it down and decided it would be better to send it to them. I have been through many big truck, pickup, and tractor transmissions but that 5600 looks extra tricky. Not to mention I wasn't finding the time to work on it. I have always heard good things about both vendors.

Standard Transmission rebuilt my G56, but I'll recommend Blumenthals for the NV5600. They are/were the OEM recommended rebuilder for the NV5600 from Dodge.

There are special fixtures to assemble these big transmissions and it is helpful to have about 3 sets of hands to get everything lined up correctly not really a good home job

Well I just drove it this morning for the first time in a month, clutch feels good, trans is really tight and a little "nothcy" but I assume it needs a little while for everything to wear in. I do still have an occasional ring in the clutch pedal, I hope its just a "break" in issue as my old destroyed clutch also did the same thing but constantly. I will re-post the longevity and my satisfaction on the trans after I use it for a while. All in all Blumentals replaced my input shaft and counter gear, as well as a worn rev and 4th gear plus bearings, synchros, etc... Nice to have her back on the road and than you all for your insight and support! Now I can see why the SB hydraulics are needed, I think the pedal would be very hard with the stock ones.

Also I installed a temp gauge on my fast coolers, what temp should the trans run at? What temps while towing should I be concerned with? If I find I am running hot, I may deiced to build a trans temp coolers similar to RVTRKNs for my 5600. Right now I have her filled with AMSOIL MTF and overfilled a little more than a qt.

What temperature is it running at? From brand new, my NV5600 was always notchy. My G56 was always nice and smooth, try driving one, than the other every other day or so.

Im still finishing up the install, so have not put the actual gauge in the console yet ( or re connected my air ride / pacbrake ) should be done this week. Im going to take a ride to wintergreen this weekend so that ought to give me an idea of what temp it runs (not towing). I was just curious.
