Are there different rear end ratios available with the new transmission?
JTryles said:As of right now you can't order the 4. 10's with the G56. Why? Maybe it's not strong enough to handle the torque load? If the "new and improved" PLASTIC end-capped intercooler is any indication of how DC "improves" things in the '05's I am not too confident in this new transmission... .
Tim said:#1 Lower gears will likely take stress off the transmission, not add to it. Lower gears only affect the axleshaft's ability to take the torque load.
#2 The NV 5600 has a . 73:1 OD ratio. The G-56 has . 79:1. That's a 10% difference, or approximately the same as having 4. 10s with the NV 5600. In other words, 4. 10 is not necessary or even desirable with the G-56. I wish they'd bring the 3. 55s back.
