I recently did the NV5600 conversion on my 96. The truck has 230,000 miles on it and now I'm looking at having to rebuild the transfer case... . But,... I'm thinking that instead of throwing money into the NV241HD that maybe I oughta look into bolting the heavier NVG271 up to it instead... Anyone out there tried that yet???I havnt had a chance to compare the 2 of them side by side for bolt pattern/size etc... . But... I believe the newer Dodges are running the NVG271... .

The NV5600 uses the same case flange as the NV4500. I can tell you that I have a NV5600 mated to a NV241DHD on my 97 and a NV5600 mated to the NV 271 on my 03. I also have a New Process NP 208 (NP) (New Venture Gear's former name) bolted to the back of the A-518 on my Ramcharger Cummins conversion. It wasn't easy but the case flanges are identical. 1985 NP 208 to a 91. 5 A-518. Go figure. Ken Irwin
