Brake smart or new Prodigy?

Norcal to Midland Texas

Anyone have the Dexter Never/lube axles out there on their trailers. ?

Had these put on my old Alpenlite three years ago in place of the Hayes.

Just wondering if anyone has a comment on these as I have been lucky so far.

I notice that the new Alpenlite fiver's are coming out with these. The axles are supposed to be virtually free from PM, but sometimes I question the extent of mileage on these without failures.

Yep, I've got the Nev-R-Lube hubs on my trailer (2002 Open Road 318RLDS). I've only towed it 3,000 miles or so but doing great so far. The trailer also has the Dexter TorFlex axles, they sure do a nice job of keeping everything under control.

The dealer I bought the trailer from thinks they are the best axles made. Dexter just released an air suspension upgrade for the TorFlex axles that make them even better. A disc brake upgrade is also available.

In 01 installed Mor/ryde, 12 1/4x3 3/8 brakes self adjusting with Never-Lub. The only thing that is suggested is check the brakes for ware once a year. They don't even run warm. The best part is $35 replaces the whole thing. I have pulled mine they sure neat and no mess. They are under Warnt for 5 years or 100,000 miles I only have about 20K on mine :)

Thanks everyone, I was curious as I have had mine on three years now and no problems. Yes, they do seem to run more cool and nice to not have to pack the bearings too.

I removed TORFLEX and replaced with Mor/ryde now that is worth the money. have far more up/dowm travel now don't lift a axle going into drives any more. :) :D
