Monster Truck Jam (Oakland)

Tristate (MD,PA,WV) HEY THERE!

Attn NW BOMBers,

I have been on the list to get a KDP jig. I have been informed that its coming our way soon. I know there are several of us that could not make it to the last event and want to get this done.

I would like to arrange something for Saturday the 29th, assuming it gets here as planned. The question of course is where do we want to have this, any suggestions as to a location that would be out of the weather. I personally do not have the space, etc.

To make this a sucessfull event and do more that just my truck, I need some help locating a place for us. Any suggestions or ideas welcome.

What the heck is a KDP Jig??

Is that 12v terminology? It sounds like something I would use in the sound to catch salmon with!:D :D

I do not have any space to think of but I think my rig need it as welll. Let me know for sure and I will be able at least to lend a helping hand. I have just a two care garage and not much tools.

Killer Dowel Pin is what KDP stands for. You can do a search and read lots about it. There are several different fixes various members have come up with. The CPFF jig is one of them. You can see a sticky post at the top of the 12v forum, where people are trying to get these.

I have been on the list of the one floating around the Pacific NW. I hear my turn is coming. I figured that if I could get 5 or so trucks together along with 1 or 2 guys that did this the last time and have experience, then it would be much better that just doing mine.

When finished it will be passed to the next person on the same list I was on. Will be not sending it to anyone else.

Come on over

If you all need a place come on over. We can have a little bomb party also. Let me know when you want to do it and I will let you know my shedule. :D . Sam

Did this event happen or still to be scheduled? I just saw this post. If the event has not yet occured I would be interested in participating depending on when.

Thanks, Ken

We did it last weekend and finished 5 rig you might want to get ahold of slybones and see if he still has it. Sorry I guess ya missed the first one. It is pretty easy to do it will take a 45 min to a hour to do but well woth it. You can check nwbombers web site as well. Geoff

Thanks guys. I jumped over to NWbombers website and found some posts there regarding the event. Missed the boat, oh well... Registered at NWbombers while I was at it.

What exactly is entailed in the process and are there other ways to fix it? I will be heading up to Piers for some pump work in a month or so and may have him fix it if the cost is reasonable. Otherwise I will try and get a hold of that jig somehow and fix it myself.

Ken

After we took my front cover off tuesday, I can tell ya the jig would not have worked on mine without removing the front cover and drving the pin into the block. I went to grab the pin with some neddle nose pliers after I found it hanging way outta the block. It basically fell out in my hands:eek: Needless to say the needle nose pliers were not needed.

It would have been bouncing around inside my case in no time.

The point is... . I needed to remove the cover anyway so, we made a washer to hold it in and did not use the jig.

PM SlyBones and ask him where the jig went. I think he said Oregon. Might be worth the drive if there will be a Jig Party down there
