O.K People What's Wrong in your house?

We all Know a Plumber's house has the most leaks ,

An Electrician's house has the most sparks~N~Shorts , A Carpenter's House needs Updating~N~Finishing , and a G/C has a good mix of all of the above.



Me being a G/C of sorts (Licenced Maintenance General Repairman) I have 3 Leaks , Some Finish Carpentry , 3 circuits that need some rewiring , and ALOT of updating.



The Truck ... ... Hmm being I am an Ex Mechanic That's Complete But if I still were .....

I guess if the truth be told I need to finish the very back part of the house with a paint job. Never did get to it and I think it has been 3 years. A garage door panel needs painting, the privacy fence will need replacing in a few years. But hey this is South Texas and we did get a new AC in the plantation last year. The roof is original and the house is 16 years old so I guess after all that I will need to replace the roof.

One outside wall of the garage has the wrong color paint. It's the one facing the neighbor



I never painted the interior of my upstairs doorwall.



Part of the roof needs to be redone.



My son is replacing all the downstairs passage doors and hardware, but it'll take him a year to do it He's a finish carpenter by the way



My back yard is a mess and needs to be filled, leveled and reseeded. That will have to be done this spring, since my daughter claims she wishes to be married there in a year or so.



Other than that, the house is in the best shape that I've ever seen it.

We live on several acres, my wife would like me to build a house next door and go live there by myself. She did say I could come over and visit her



Plus I have to take my dogs with me



I guess that means I am the one that needs fixin at my house and no I'm not a psychologist.

Everything in my house functions properly and is painted ETC, the outside is brick and aluminum and is in great shape. In short there is nothing wrong with my house. To hear my wife tell it? It is a dump that needs remodeled from top to bottom, bla bla bla. It is gonna be like it is until she gets a whole lot better skills and can do it her da__ self!!!



Well OK, there is a pee trap on the washtub in the basement that needs replaced. I will work it into the schedule, but that is IT!!!!

I own a janitorial service, yup, cleaning offices, carpet cleaning.



Ya think I feel like cleaning anything around the house, NOT. At least it hasen't been declared a disaster area, however if the Governor would like to send some disaster relief funds, I won't argue

uh oh... LSmith, a pee trap in the washtub in the basement??? Is that for when the wife spends an hour in the only bathroom, and you've just finished a 6 pack, and it's another Wisconsin winter outside? Yah, I know, you meant a "p" trap.....

My own house needs more than I have time to repair, and I had hoped to have it on the market this spring.

The main bathroom has a gray tub, with a big chip in the finish, and the previous owner, guy by the name of Ed, worked for a drywall company. All his "home improvements" involved drywall material , false walls and valances and such, and this tub has a drop ceiling over it, with two columns on either side, narrowing the normal 5' wide opening down to 4'. It will all have to be torn out in order to replace the tub or refinish it. Not a fun or cheap project. Then there's the "Ed Shed" he built out back, made entirely from water resistant drywall, attached to metal studs, and coated with dryvit. He ran out of dryvit, too. And the way his wife painted EVERYTHING , every wall and kitchen cabinet, in various shades of pink or peach. It took 3 weeks of hard work to hide most of her "sponge painting" Miami Vice style art deco paint on the walls. Jimmy Buffet woulda loved it.

I can't believe I was dumb enough to buy this house. It's been a good investment, but still... ... I resent the time it's going to take.

After replacing the water heater in the fall, the house is in good shape. I would have to say that I do need to replace two kitchen windows.



However, if you ask the wife every room in the house probably needs to be repainted What I can't figure out is, if she is repainting every three years, why do I keep buying 15 year paint

Well lets see, I did the roof last year, and the heating system. Those two were pretty expensive.

I still have to finish painting it. Started it 2 years ago. Next time I'll just get siding. I dont like painting.

I started the bathroom about 5 months ago. Still got most of it in the garage!!:-laf :-laf But I plan on finishing all this before the summer.

I'm an architectural designer and I didnt design my house and it's a rectangle box to boot!! Lucky for me my wife is related directly to Mrs. Clean. Cant put anything down and not have her right behind me picking it up. Can be annoying trying to find my stuff, but better than living with a slob I guess.

Other problems:

garage is just big enough for truck and my shtuff. I tell the wife to just back in till you hit something, then you know your far enough to close the door!

Cant see the truck, need window from house to garage!!
