Got my head back after being o-ringed, and noticed that the o-rings have a gap where they were cut. The gap is angled, so they overlap, however. Since they are simply pushing down on the firering, and overlap, should I still be concerned?

I'm having a little trouble understanding what you are seeing. Is there a gap, or are the ends overlapped? I normally cut the o-ring wire so that it is angled, but the ends should butt up smoothly.
