O ringing an 3rd gen?

For those that are O ringed on a 3rd gen truck.

What headgasket did you use when you re-assembled the engine?



The stock headgasket will not work with conventional O rings or Fire rings.



The 3rd gen headgasket is "different" from the rest.

Also these new gaskets shouldnt blow, you should just see leaking from lifting the head.



Someone educate me!

What's the purpose of O-ringing the head? Better sealing? Us 3rd gen guys aren't that advanced yet!

Shoot a buddy of mine blew his stock gasket running just an EZ. And he doesn't even run his vehicles hard.

O ringing is supposed to keep one from blowing the headgasket (losing cylinder pressure etc. )

Thought those cast iron heads were the ticket? What gives?

Nothing is wrong with the cast-iron heads, its because of running so much boost. A stock head gasket was not ment to handle over 50lbs of boost.
