I like it. Toyota knows how to make reliable and tough pickups. I'm sure this one will be no exception.

The grill looks like its off a Ford though.....

"Ugly", if you think that truck is ugly you must hate your ram. When I looked at the picture I saw ram styling cues all over that truck. I also agree that it will be a good truck because of the Toyota reputation. If they do put a diesel in there the big three should look out.

I do love my truck but I also get tired of not getting the "little details" included. One example is the map pocket ONLY on the passenger seat. Why the heck can I not have one on the drivers seat too? Did it just cost a little to much or did the Dodge designers not think about it? Check out almost any import car or truck and you will find such attention to detail. One more example. The paint job on the door jambs of any Lexus is for the most part better than the paint job of the whole outside of just about any domestic car made here in America. Just my 2 cents!

Yeah i thinks it's ugly, and it doesn't look any more like my ram than a ford does. I wasn't trying to knock toyota, i have owned several. it just looks like they are still competing for the best half ton.

Hey if Toyota and Nissan Get good HD with diesels I will sell this Dodge. I love my truck but you are right its the small things, like if you stare too hard at the truck you will dent the Mexican sheetmetal.

Why would (woid??? :-laf ) you need a CTD on Staten Island, NY??? Toy probably suit your needs just fine.

Personally, I bought the Dodge for the diesel. For traveling long western miles, hauling firewood, hunting in the mtns, driving winter conditions, and hauling a camper.

I had a Toy once. Unfortunately, I traded my LandRover on a GMC Jimmy. The GMC snapped the crankshaft going up Homestake Pass a month later. So I put a crank kit in and traded it off on the Toy. The Toy timing chain wore through the case and the coolant cooked the bearings at 150K. After rebuilding the Toy I traded it off on my first CTD. Only a few minor problems since. My fond memories of the Toy: a cramp underpowered tin can with cheap interior waiting to rust out. Albeit it sure was catty crawling around the mountains. Although not as good as the LandRover.

See you later, and enjoy :)

You should read all the threads on rv.net about the new Toy trucks. Talk about blind brand loyality, those folks have it perfected.

Believe it or not, newer CTD's are quite popular around these parts with the Power Jokes being even more popular. My truck however is THE only 56honey equipped one around. People think I'm nuts. I had to travel over an hour to get to a dealer who had one.

I may live in the big city (I'm actually in the last frontier of the big city), but I'm not a "slicker" or whatever you might call a typical city dweller.

I am a truck Guy. The CTD is a Truck Guy's Truck!

The only reason I posted info about the tundra (I don't even like Toyota) is because there was some interest a while back and some were waiting for the intro of this truck, and the prospect of it having a Diesel option. I am also trying to alert unhappy owners of a new alternative. :-laf

At least they are built in the United States.

The front looks good but I don't care for the rear and the four door cab looks funky.

I had two Nissans and a Toyota before this truck and they were great. If the Toyota diesel got 25+ MPG and could tow 10K I would think about switching. The Dodge has been very good to me though. :D

Toyota Diesel

I agree with KBennett if they could get 25+mpg and tow 10K I would think seriously about one. Their reputation is excellent, just put the small Cummins in it and it will sell!! Are you listening Toyota?

I too like my Dodge but have fixed the steering, lift pump, VP and transmission in 60,000 mi.

I would be willing to bet that the new Toyota's won't have these problems.

Just A Little Toyota Diesel Info. Back In December While I Was Working The Ifr Rodeo In Ok City Where Toyota Is Major Sponsor, I Got To Talking To The Head Of Us Marketing. I Asked As Why They Were Spending The Kind Of Money They Were To Sponser An Event That The Majority Of Contestants And Fans All Own Trucks Of A Heavier Class Than What They Produce. His Reply Was That They Are Going Into The 3/4 And 1 Ton Market And Will Have A Diesel Power Plant In The Trucks. He Said They Will Be Introduced In 18 Months.

Of Corse My Next Question Was What Kind Of Diesel Motor. He Just Looked At Me And Grinned And Said "no Comment" Asked Several More Leading Questions Only To Get The Same Answer, He Did End The Conversation With It Is No Rumor The Trucks Are Testing Now.

Wow

I always have liked Toyota's, IMO they build a quality product. This one looks real nice, all it needs is an aftermarket grill, custom tires & wheels and she's ready to go!

It would have to get better than 24 mpg and be a 250hp/475tq diesel and turn as tight or tighter than my QC SWB before I would consider one though. I like it.

If they ever come out might be worth a look. Might even help keep someone in good old USA employed. They do look small, but might be bigger in person.

I'm just waiting to see the fuel mileage figures on the new Tundra before deciding to get rid of the CTD for one. That is a super sharp truck IMO.
