Sold my 01 to my brother the other day. We were playing with the turbomaster, trying to set the boost level and I was a bit confused. My cousin brought his OBD scanner and according to it we were running about 37 psi of boost during our test drives so we turned it down to around 26 psi becuase I've heard that anything over 30 psi is over kill with just the Bully Dog box that is on the truck. I ran accross this in the 3g forum that when the OBD gets the boost reading it is getting it from the map sensor and that you have to subtract 14. 7 to get the true boost reading. Is this correct on the 2g trucks also? If so then the 37 psi that I was getting was actually only about 22. Yes, I realize that the truck needs guages and they are planned for the near future, but we are taking the truck to Colorado next week and can't get them installed before then so we need a quick fix here.

TIA

What was the OBD reading at idle?? Mine reads 14, if your reads 14 at idle you need to subtract - if it reads 0 at idle then you can just use the number its giving you.

I have had my OBD plugged into a bunch of diffferent trucks from 98. 5 to 2003 and there did not seem to be a pattern. I know that my 01 reads 14 at idle, but my Fathers 98 reads 0.

Good luck.
