First the observation... ...

All "old style" grilles are cracked and the outer rings dented, along with front fender. LOL

I've been looking for a body part donor truck for the ol '89.

Every truck I call on I get an answer similar to this.

"Yeah the body is in pretty good shape, all but the grille and that one front fender!"

It's always the fender that I need most!

Anyway with that said what years exactly fit the 89 Body style, including the nose.

Am I correct in saying 86 to 91?

I read something about the noses on the earlier ones fitting but the grilles had screws in the wrong places.

Thanks, KO

The fenders are the same from 81 to 93, the only differences are if it has trim moldings. The 81 to 90 style have studs welded to the fender, and the 91 to 93 style have a couple holes where the front moulding bolts on. The hoods as far as I know are the same, but the earlier ones had "Dodge" emblems on them and the later ones don't. Core supports are different for sure, 81-85, 86-90, 91-93, plus diesel and gas are different. The front lower valances are different, I think 81-90 interchange, but 91-93 are different because of the big plastic grille. Hope this helps, Alex

The external body parts will interchange from gas to diesel.

Which fender do you need? I have 2 dent free, another with Bondo to make it look dent free. Also have a grille, but forget if it is dented or not. I know the centers are in good shape. You know how to get ahold of me.

KO, my 90, which is now Greenleaf's, had Dodge across the front vertical edge of the hood, along with the Ram's head on top, front of hood. I was never sure if it came that way or they were added.
