I noticed at high elevations with my new rebuilt transmission (triple TQ, etc) that when locking into OD when going easy on the throttle I get a short millisecond chirp of turbo bark.

I know it's not the best thing to put a turbo through but their isn't too much I can do about it now (I'm on a X-country trip) do I really have to be that worried?

Hopefully when I leave these altitudes it will subside..... I'm towing a 9k fifth wheel by the way.

NEVER happens when not towing.

Don't go easy on the throttle, it won't bark right? Complete the trip, with modified driving behavior, then mod the truck.

Its normal with a triple disk and a load. Try running up to speed in drive, letting the turbo spool down then shift to OD. The rpm drop and defuel under a load is what causes the bark. Unload the turbo and the problem goes away.
