October Austin meeting, breakfast and hot rod run

Announcing Jim's 1st annual Big Breakfast and Hot Rod run!



We will meet 9AM October 8th at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant in San Marcos next to the Outlet mall on I-35 for breakfast. We will caravan to Boerne afterwards for those that want to see the hot rod show.



This will be a family event. Bring your family, friends and your truck!

Rod run

Oo. The run from the Cracker Barrel to Boerne is less than an hour. Those of you who ran the Kerrville to Utopia loop at the 1st Texas Rally (at Buckhorn Lake RV resort) know what an awesome sight a bunch of Dodge trucks running together is! :--)

Besides, it is a beautiful drive thru the Texas Hill Country.

Sure wish I knew why the spacing. :-{}

No can do here... just found out that I'm leaving for the Dominican Republic on the 4th and won't be back till the 14th.

I just looked at the weather forecast for Sat. at Boerne---mostly sunny--high of 79 degrees. Wonderful!! :--)

Review

Saturday was a beautiful day.

Five members met at the Cracker Barrel in San Marcos. Outlet Auto Dodge brought two '06 Rams over for us to view; a 25 4x4 loaded up Cummins & a 3500 SRW Mega Cab Cummins. Man! That thing has a lot of room inside. One of the optional features you may be interested in is a tailgate helper. Sure does lighten the load when opening & closing the tail gate. I believe it can be retro-fitted to older trucks .

We had breakfast & 4 of us left in a convoy for the Rod Run in Boerne. We were joined at Bulverde by 2 more members & continued our trek.

The town od Boerne probably doubled its population for this weekend's festivities. Wall to wall people, not to mention a downtown area packed with very nice rods of most every description.

I think it fair to say that we enjoyed the day. Oo. Oo. Oo.
