hey guys - ive had my truck now for almost a year and just love it, but recently ive been wondering if my tc is slipping in od. the trans shifts nicely( or i think it does) but when od engages i notice it, but when i give it a good amount of throttle it unlocks, especially if im on a hill. impretty confident that it's not something with the tps, but im gonna clean it anyway just to make sure. as far as power goes, i know im at or near the stock limit for the 47re, and that just may be my problem. i do plan on putting an ats stage V in, but funds are currently depleted. do i need to do a throttle linkage adjustment?? the truck has 113,00 on it currently. all i need to know is what sould i be doing to make the trans last another 3-4 months before i get the ats? andy redmond speak up if youre out there! thanks in advance for any input

I've just sprayed some electrical contact cleaner in my TPS, where the shaft goes in. Spray it, then work the shaft back and forth. I repeated it a few times to make sure. It may help some.

Tighten up the bands.

I put in a new governor pressure solenoid and sensor a short while ago. Haven't been able to slip it (TCC) since.

Check to make sure the return spring on the trannys throttle valve is attached or not gone/broke.

If those don't work, slide the plate back a litle to help save the transmission 'til you can get it replaced/rebuilt.

im thinkin i might have to slide the plate back a bit. i was under the truck today eariler and i did see the spring for the transmission throttle linkage. adjusting the bands isn't a bad idea either. thanks bmoller.

JKouzez, you won't have one since you have the 47RH transmission. Only the 47RE have them.

The RHs are controlled hydraulically, RE is electronically controlled.

When is the last time the fluid was changed?

Cleaning the TPS may help.

I see you have a TC switch. That could be part of the problem. I don't have one, but it sounds like you to be careful when using them. You may have ruined the TC lock-up clutch.
