Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) odo is off but speedo seems correct

well im finding out my odometer is off by about half reads 3 miles when you have gone 6. however i belive my speedo is correct as if it where off by that much i would be doing 120 when its reading 60. do i have a bad sensor thats reading wrong? i wanna get this to read right so i can acuratly fiure out my mpg. also with this the overhead odo is not working.

By any chance do you have it set to display kilometers?

it says mi on it so i dont think so

i looked at it more closely and it doesnt say mi or km on it just trip or a long line of numbers. however i dont think its in km mode cause that would read twice as high roughly. this is half of what it should read.
