My sons 99 gas Ram hit the million mark & stayed at 999999 miles. Dealer has no idea what to do? I know many have made the mark so someone must have a procedure? Thank you.

'99 gas powered trucks have the digtal odometer like the diesels did correct? I don't recall ever seeing a gasser reach that milestone.

That's what blows about a digi odometer, it doesn't roll over like a real one! Never have liked digital odometers. I heard the PCM still registers the mileage but the dash is not programmed to accumulate past all 9s.

We're still trying to find the second owner who put most of
the miles on but do have complete maintenance history. though dealerships tend to be very brief on descriptions. Suspect the Ram spent its life towing new rv's across the country? Still a daily driver!

None of the transport companies I am familiar with will lease gassers, not powerful or dependable enough. At any rate, if the dealer can't reflash the PCM he might have to get another one. I don't have a digital odometer, but when my original quit I replaced the speedo with one from a wrecked truck. Consequently my odo only reads 776k.

5.9 or 8.0L? How could someone pull rv's with a gasser that gets what .... 5 or 6 MPG when pulling , must have cost them lots of $$$$$ to feed that thing !

We're just guessing on the rv thing, its a 5.9L. According to the car fax the second owner averaged over 12000 miles a month for seven years. We have records of engine head replacement & two transmissions, oil & trans fluids were changed right on the heavy duty schedule. We have contacted three local dealerships & no one knows what to do about the odometer?

Wow. I'm a huge supporter of the 5.2/5.9 Chrysler Magnums. I know they can do it under the right circumstances. I once maintained a fleet of these engines in ambulette vans. Saw one 5.2 go past 200k without more than tune ups and water pumps. Of course it can't match the duty cycle of the Cummins, but a work horse in its own right.
Sorry there's not much info about the cluster. I do know the Chrysler DRB scan tool will reveal true odometer reading.
