Transmission Question for a new time buyer

I'm replacing pads and rotors after nearly 130k and agree they performed well, however with manufacturers going off shore I am concerned about OEM quality changing (new sources). Too many accountants telling engineers what to do (yes - I work in engineering).

Does anyone know where the OEM components are made / sourced from now such as USA or elsewhere? Too many bad experiences with offshore (China) other than I have had good UK and German brake parts in the past.

Replaced brakes on my son's SUV w/EBC components and seems to be good quality hardware, sourced from UK or USA.

Unfortunately as you described, the oem source that supplied your truck in 2007 may or may not be the same oem source today simply do to the nature of manufactureur cost cutting strategies. That being said, I can vouch for the Mopar premium line pads that I put on my truck at 100k as being the same quality as the ones that came on it, as least in terms of performance. I did NOT need to replace my rotors at 100 k as when I mic'd them, there was enough meat left for another 100k, so I cannot comment on current rotor oem rotor quality, most certainly I can attest to the quality of the oem rotors that came on the truck as I am likely going to see 200k from them.

FYI--The Mopar "premium line" brake pad numbers for our 3rd gen trucks are as follows--

05093267AA full set--FRONT Disc Brake Pads
05093257AA full set--REAR Disc Brake Pads

And the relevant torque specs are--

Caliper pins 24 ft*lb.
Caliper adapter mounting screws are 130 ft*lb.

EBC is US\UK made and probably the top choice for rotors. The slotted rotors are a good upgrade for a heavy truck. Not so much the brake pads, I would stick with the Dodge or NAPA premium pads.

Been installing actual OEM and Centric brand rotors, pads, and calipers with brackets. I also install calipers from other reman, and centric is not shabby- cad plated slides, stainless shims, look like stainless Pistons, new banjo bolts w/washers. Painted non wear surfaces on rotors. Very little comebacks. I don't know origin though.
Job spec calls for OEM or equivelant quality, and Centric passes muster in purchasing.

They imply that their components are "North American manufactured", although they never come out and make a blanket statement covering EVERY part. See HERE.

Thanks for all the feedback. While there were several choices out there, I had narrowed it down to OEM or EBC, and as Cerb confirmed, the EBC are either made in USA or the UK. So it was a toss up between those two and I bought the OEMs and confirm they are labeled Made in USA. I'm going to see how the Hawk Superduty pads work with the OEM rotors all around. I ran Powerslots with Superduty pads on a GM about 10 years ago and they did well, a bit noisy at first but was able to use less pedal force over the factory setups. Will see how this combo works. My son has EBC rotors EBC green pads on a GM SUV and seems to be working well, so either would probably be a good choice. Just glad to see Mopar OEM is still made here.

Just keep your geography class in mind, Mexico is part of North America too...

My BIL drives for Old Dominion in central Pa. One of his pick ups is a small casting operation, and he saw one of the products- a raw cast aluminum diff cover branded for Summit racing.
I was real surprised and pleased at the same time. I get that catalog, and they claim a lot of those "trinket" items are US made. I was happy to find it true.

I tried: "Brake Performance"; Purchased set of OEM style [non slotted/dimpled] Frt. Brake rotors #BRS-67061 & semi-metallic premium pads #PS-09650 for $202; Nov. 2013 @ 231K miles.

I highly recommend these folks, braking was noticeably improved. I originally bought their "dimpled" rotors, but they warped.
