I have to replace my rear rotors and while doing so I am planning to replace the brake shoes. The factory sells a one piece unit with shoes, hardware, & backing plate, as well as shoes without the extra hardware. Aftermarket shoes are much lower cost, but I'd like to know if the oem shoes are really that much better. It appears this is true for pads, but would like some recommendations. While doing this, I'm trying to avoid repeating it anytime soon. I will also be checking bearings, seals, etc. Thanks.

I just did the parking brake assemblies on my '07 last month along with calipers, rotors, and pads. I had originally not planned on replacing the parking brake assemblies when doing the rotors until I got in there and realized how bad they were. I ended up ordering the complete OEM kit with hardware. The old hardware was simply unusable.

Got part#'s for the parking brake assembly(s)??

Here's an OEM part list I just got using my VIN from a dealer:

Part Number Part Name Quantity
5093257AA Brake Pads 1
52010144AA Rotor 2
52010141AG Brake Assembly 2
5086773AC Bearing Seal 2
5086774AA Inner Bearing 2
4746918 Bearing Race 2
2955374 Wheel Bearing Cup 2
5086772AA Outer Bearing 2
5086804AA Wheel Nut Retainer 2
5086767AC Axle Shaft Gasket 2
5086760AB Adjust Nut 2

The 52010141AG is the shoe assembly with back plate. So it appears this is probably a better option than to go aftermarket.

What is the difference in the three different part numbers on the mopar site?

From all I have been able to find, it appears the newest suffix is what you will get. If you search for a 52010141AC on some Mopar sites, it will tell you it is superceded and refers to the newest number. In my case, the 52010141AG is the only one that applies. Seems using a VIN with a dealer to confirm is the best approach.
Still not sure what the difference is in shoes if you don't need a backing plate. The dealer price is extremely high, seems like most brands such as AC, Wagner, Raybestos, etc., offer the shoes for much less and I can't believe there would be a major difference. Bearing cups and races are similar, seems even at a discount that OEM parts have a huge markup.
