I am looking for the OEM front tow hooks with brackets for a 1996 CTD 2500 Ram. I believe they are the same for all of the 2nd Gen trucks. I will take the brackets alone if that is all that is available. Thanks for any replies. PM me if you don't want to post.

Because 2nd gen tow hooks are scarce and not really that great, I installed a Curt front receiver hitch on my '01. I was very pleased with it and it was cheaper than the oem tow hook kit.

BDaugherty,

Thanks for your reply and suggestion. I have thought about a front receiver hitch but I just do not want to add that much extra weight (42 pounds for the proper Curt model) to the front end. It seems the stock front suspension components on the early 2nd gens have enough trouble handling the stock front end weight.

Setup a search on eBay and have it notify you of matches, and be ready to act quick. They are rare since Mopar stopped selling them a year or 2 ago. But be patient - it took several months, but I got a decent set off eBay last year complete with brackets and hooks, but I had to pay dearly for them to win the auction because they still seem to be in high demand. I had everything blasted and black powder coated. And Mopar still sold the air dam with the cutouts as of last year, so I have a brand new appearing setup and it looks great!

drag racer,

Thanks for the eBay search suggestion, that's an excellent idea. I've not done that before but I'll sure give it a try. And yes I do expect in the end, if I can find some, that I too will have to pay dearly for them. Just seems to go with trying to find out-of-production OEM accessories for one of these older trucks. Glad you were finally successful. I'll bet they do indeed look nice and will work when you need them.
