Good compressor?

Trying to remove a rusted brake line

I just replaced the brake pads with some Raybestos pads (Front). I didn't have any problems with the Dodge OEM pads that they replaced. But I got talked into the Raybestos because they had a life time warranty. But since the pads have been on the truck they stink and cause tons of dust! The installer claims that they are as good or better than the OEM, but I say why are they stinking? Now he is trying to talk me into ceramic pads, which I am sure will cost me more. What are your thoughts on this.

I went with Hawk Head pads on mine a lot less brake dust than the oem

pads and stopping is great. Oo.

I have the same on mine, no complaints here. From what I understand, pads with lifetime warrantees are very hard and will wear down your rotors a lot faster, even causing grooving and warping.

The Raybestos pads must not be to hard if they are kicking up so much dust and stink. I am actually thinking that they not going to last as long a the DC OEM pads. Last time I checked they did not have Hawks for the 03 and later.

Stock pads.

My vote is for stock pads. I tried every conceivable pad and rotor on my '99 and ended up returning to stock. My '07's going to get stock when needed too.

I have to go along with that. They cost a fortune but they do everything pretty good and have a good life for most trucks.

I was thinking of going with the EGR's with slotted roters.

The stock pads to work very well. when I wore them down I replaced with napa ceramic's. 15,000 miles later they were gone. replaced again with napa, but a non-ceramic since the rotor's had one more set in them and I don't tow much if at all. It feels "iffy" at times compared to stock under 100MPH deceleration's that's for sure But they sure are not making noise and wearing very fast and no real dust.

Get either "stock" parts. Or all out performance brake package with a rotor and pad meant to work together. I was lazy and cheap the first 2 pad replacements. Mainly cuz it's a job to get the rotor's out. Next time around I'll have to do it right.
