Bug Out

TDR MEMBER
I have had this issue for a while but waited until I took the bezel off myself to see if in some small stroke of luck there would be a loose wire I could fix..

Nothing loose that I can see. Has anyone had this issue at all? Google has a couple hits but not RAM stuff. Checked TDR search found nothing either....

The radio comes back on as if its booting up again and sometimes says to remove USB to reset radio.

If I push the band selector right after it goes off, it will usually come right back on..

Anyone have any idea what It could be? I'd love to have it fixed before a upcoming 2K mile trip.

TIA.
Ed

Ed,

Sounds internal to the radio to me if pressing the band selector clears it. Are you talking about AM, FM and Sirus? Does anything else have a problem? If your still under warranty, I'd get the 5-Star to fix it. Ron

The display remains intact...just acts like it lost signal? No other indication besides loss of audio and the usb notice?

If you're comfortable removing the radio, perhaps one of the plugs in the back is loose. If not a loose plug, it is possibly an internal problem on the infotainment system. If under warranty and you have time, let the dealer work on it.

display goes blank then displays remove USB to reset etc. Took the radio out yesterday which is what prompted the post..All plugs good. Was hoping for a simple fix, but looks like off to Larry Miller for the "tech can't find the issue" dance...;)

Good luck on the dealer visit...big thing is that they can duplicate the trouble. After that, it's pretty much plug and play for replacement. We had our QUE in our Cadillac replaced once under warranty and once on our dime. We negotiated with the dealer to pay $800 for the so called $3,200 enfotainment center. Sadly, the systems also control and change vehicle functions also. Take care, Ron

If The "excitement" level in the gals voice over the phone once she heard what the issue was is an indication of things to come, I may be using a earplugs and my cell phone for music....I hope not..

Well they did some kind of a flash to the radio that has all but taken care of the issue...They did a couple of the recalls and "ordered"the water pump..Happy at this point...;)

Well, my water pump gets changed this saturday. the radio now goes off when hitting a bump, but comes back on sometimes in a different band etc..Going to see what they can do. just a note: Wife has a Jeep same radio, same issues. hit bump, bounces around bands....
