Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) # of Input splines on 241dld??

Im trying to find a replacement t-case for my 1994 auto 47rh truck. I would like to upgrade to the 241HD, and i have found quite a few, but not sure if they will fit. i know to look for 94-97, since the speed sensor was moved to the rear axle in 1998, and that the output will require a larger slip-yoke. But what about the t-case input shaft? What years/models to look for, or what is the size of shaft/ # of splines?

As long as its off an automatic will it work?

I upgraded to a DHD last March when I swapped out my 47RH for the NV5600... and ever since then I've been without a speedo. :-laf
