I've heard that kerosene / off road fuel / not colored works great in diesel? /any thoughts..... ?
/the price is right also. .

Very well said!WBusa said:As robertyoke says, offroad diesel is just diesel that ya ain't paid the revenewers any taxes for. IMHO, there are three compelling reasons to resist the temptation to use it on-road:
1. The legal penalties are HUGE if you get caught... think "tax evasion".
2. Everbody else (at least, everbody I respect) pays their fuel taxes, so I figger I should too if I want to use their roads.
3. Kids. If you happen to have any laying around the house, its a good idea to teach 'em not to lie, cheat, or steal.
Are you in your home? That (SCOTUS has ruled) is where you have protection from unreasonable search and seizure. On a public roadway, the taxing authorities have every right to pull a truck over to ensure that it is in compliance with fuel tax laws. I didn't say that - the courts have.hammersley said:"..... unreasonable searches and seizures... ..... ?"
when they Dip Tanks????? There is no evidance that a crime has been comitted - This is VEHICLE PROFILING!
The rationale is that the fuel tax is, in effect, a user fee in that those who use the roads (and consume fuel while doing so) pay for the road construction and maintenance through the fuel tax. So, I would suggest that the premise is that one should pay tax on any fuel consumed to transport one over public roadways.WBusa said:I'm no lawyer (thank God), but I think maybe you're supposda pay fuel taxes on fuel you buy, not on fuel you burn (I think).
If you're in the public parking lot (i. e. , you're not a fairgrounds vehicle) they prolly have a 'reasonable presumption' that you drove in via a public road, rather than being airlifted in via helicopterhammersley said:These places aren't Public Highways... ... . they are often private locations - I'm not advocating violating the law - but I don't see how they can open your tank without your permission! Without sufficient reason that you are violating the law this should be construed as an illegal search..... thoughts?????
