What exactly does dodge consider the "Off Road Package"?

Mine is a 3500 99' and has factory? blocks on the rear with overloads.

Didn't notice any difference on the front. Are the front springs the same?

I will be installing a tuff country 5 inch that has 5" coil spacers/arms

for the front and blocks w/extra leaf for the rear. I doubt the rear

will work cuz the blocks are the same size. Blocks are the cheesy way

to get lift so I will be getting new leaf packs locally. Was thinking 10"? over stock due to removal of blocks/overload spring pack and 5" additional

lift to match front. Probably gonna have to measure.

Does this sound right?

I seen a Off Road edition At a local lot yesterday I didnt even Know Dodge made one ... After a quick look over I really couldnt tell much of a diffrence... if any

I just ordered an '05 3500 QC SRW truck with the "off road package. " It comes with 4. 10 gears (only with the auto trans but I think that was because of the G56, you could get the 4. 10 gears with the NV5600), protection group (skid plates), fog lights, tow hooks, different tires, and I had to add the anti-spin diff.

Should have been more specific.

99-QC-4x4-DRW-Sport-overloads-5 speed

Maybe the blocks are stock for 1 tons.

should be a 4 inch block and yes it's factory. all dodges come factory with blocks if you get 10 inch over springs you will probably sit *** high a few inches but it will be rid of your springs. . but good luck finding an aftermarker 10 inch spring to hold much wieght or ride worth a crap

"Off Road" decals and different colored shocks along with a higher price tag :-laf

Im clueless on the option as well

I know the 1/2 tons run different rims 17" and a different colored shock (red)

True. But, remember this is a 1 ton 4x4 dually TRUCK. Not a cadillac. Its not supposed to "ride worth a crap. " It does that already. Maybe Xibit will come and "pimp my ride" with some kelderman air bags. :-laf

Goto a spring pack manufacture and they can throw together almost any combo you want. Height/weight/length etc.

My weight carrying vehicle is "the junky truck" according to my kids. I tell them "its not a junky truck ,you are a junky truck!! #@$%!

1980' 3/4 ton 2 wheel chevy. 454 ,turbo 400, 4. 11's in a 14 bolt dually. "Double stacked" in the rear... . 16 leaves per side. 33" tall rubber on split rims. Headers and 40 series flows... loud and proud. Rusty but trusty-sideways in 2nd gear. I use this to tow my stock car, go to the dump, get rock for driveway, scare kids etc.

I hadn't heard of an off road edition 3/4 or 1-ton. The 1/2 ton Off Road had: Red bilstein shocks, 2" taller front springs (slightly higher rate, also), 4. 10 gears, the front dana 44 had more skid plating, they had 17" wheels, stickers, and a LSD in the rear.

All dodges, whether 1/2, 3/4 or 1-ton have blocks in the rear. All the way back as far as I can remember. Usually the 1/2tons are around a 3" block and the 3/4 and 1-ton's are around 4" block (3-3/4" on the 2nd gen, I believe).

Talk to Deaver spring, or maybe Alcan or National spring. they all make great stuff.

Oh, BTW, Id personally go Skyjacker over tuff country from experience, But I guess I'd also go Kore and cut the fenders first instead of a 5"!

Been looking at a few and I see they all do.

Gonna send the lift back. I ran over a mailbox with 1/2 an iron railing attached to it. Ripped open both fronts and drivers inside rear. Scratched my sport bumper and my plastic fuel tank missing my Airdog luckly. Had to buy tires so I bought all 6. 255/85/16 cooper discover stt. Cant afford to do the lift and dont have the time right now. Maybe in 40k miles when these tires are junk.

2nd gen 94-02 only 1/2 tons were off-roads ( I think) but they brought the "Off road" package to the 3/4 1ton trucks in 03+
