I remember changing the passenger's side bulb a while ago - and what a nightmare. Is there a secret to doing it. I remember taking the battery off and not being able to get the battery tray out - I screwing around for about an HOUR! What's the secret to changing these things? Also - is there a longer life - Brighter - Better Bulb?

Small Hands...

I am not so sure there is a "secret" to changing the headlight bulbs. I just changed mine for the second time since I have had the truck... it went a little easier this time. But still not fun.

Seriously though... little hands (wife, girlfriend, younger son or daughter) would definitely help.

Brighter bulbs... I just put in a pair of the HyperWhites... they seem whiter but not much brighter. I hear that Sylvania has a much brighter bulb... silverstar... or something like that...

When you do the install make sure you do not touch the glass part of the bulb. Oils from your skin will reduce bulb life drastically... :D

1 Word ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . Contorsionist :D Really the best way is a Thin Buddy (I had to losten up the battery to get my hand out from being stuck in there 1/2 hour later 'cause no one was arround so the wifey came to the rescue

Sound like a good time to put in some optima batteries instead of hand surgery. :)

hammersley, if you can get your hands in pull wire connector off you mite have to pry up on the connector tab a little. Twist the screw cap off. Pull the bulb out.

Place bulb back in hole ( it should only go in one way) push hard until back part fit snug against light housing, put screw cap back on. Conncect connector.

ToolManTimTaylor,

There should be no problem telling them apart after all tntway's 2500 has no training wheels on his truck. :p :D ;)

Hammersley... ...

One of the things I have done to all my second generation trucks to assist with the headlight change is to remove the top of the plug(the wiring harness clip that hold it onto the lightbulb back). I always change my PIAA's in sets and this facilitates a easier job. Once you get the old bulb out then all you need to do is insert the new bulb and ring back into place and twist to lock, then push the wiring harness connector back on. When another change is then needed all you need to do is to pull slightly on the bulb back and the harness will fall off and then just twist the old bulb out and replace.

Part of the reason for all of us,not of slight foot, guys have problems with changing them is because of the wiring harness clip on the back holding it to the bulb. Once thats gone it just a little inconvience to do and away you go. It takes me more time now to bandage up the scratches on my forearms than to do the bulb change now,LOL. You want a laugh ask the stealer what the flat rate is to change a bulb and get a good laugh.

Speaking of good laughs, anyone here ever think Toolman will get over his fear and rid his truck of those training wheels and drive a real truck... :D :D :D :D ... ... ..... Andy

Well ya see I am awaiting a responce from someone who just picked yp a white 2500 01 gasser. He wants a dualy ... ... I wanna be single (Let me refrase that or just wait 20 years from now :p ) only I will be giving up one of the best Rhino's anyone has seen for quite some time. Who knows maybee the grass seed might grow something and I'll do it.
