60 degrees here in "southern alaska" I saw some snow this morning though. I looked to the east and could see the mountains pretty well. I bet it was cold up there.
Theres about 24" on the ground right now (down from 30+ inches at the beginning of the week). No big storms forecasted for us over the weekend but we are looking at highs around 0 to a few above and lows around -10 to -15. About a 50 degree swing from last weekend where temps cracked the upper 30s for the first time this year
You can keep it over there Mike. We lived through a winter like you are having now in 2010 and then again last year. I'll keep our below average snow season for the time being.
After 40 plus years of dealing with Winter, we moved to AZ 8years ago, and I don't miss Winter for a nano-second. Summer gets to be a drag, but all I do is think about that durn shovel, and it suddenly feels much cooler. LOL
It's guys like Mike that slap me back to reality when I dream of retiring to the County. It's -2 here with 24-30 inches on the ground, 6-10 predicted for tonight with 40 mph wind. I haven't been in the woods for 2 weeks. Everybody's cranky. Sunny and 35 never sounded so good.
Mike, I called down to the Gulf Coast to make reservations in March at our favorite RV campground for our annual 'let's go pig-out on seafood' weekend that normally kicks off our camping at the beginning of Spring. I was informed that they weren't taking reservations because the Snowbirds couldn't leave and return home due to the weather up North.
