The AMP site does not have what I'm looking for, I'm looking for electric steps, not a running board.
Ozymandias-What is a TO? Or anybody who knows.
Thanks as always.

So you are looking for something that just goes under the drivers door rather than being full length that is under both doors? The Amp powerstep opens to about half the distance between the door opening and the ground with 35s.

Yes Ipennock, that's it and I want it to retract, I can wire and install it, I also would put one on the other side. Any ideas? The Amp is not powered that I saw unless I missed it.
By the way, that was great info. on the tires, thanks. I will take them down to 40PSI, that should help, what do you think?

My AMP power step retracts completely out of sight when I close the door. When I open the door it drops down to use it. The only thing I would like that it doesn't have is a switch were I could disable it from deploying when I know I'm parked over something it might run into. (not that it has had a problem when it did hit something)

That is why I was confused as it seemed like exactly what you were looking for. Maybe this will make it clearer.

Yea, I've seen that before, I don't like the price, If I can find a step(s) like for a camper and install it on my truck, I don't need it to go to the back doors. It's all about the cost I guess is what I'm saying, I'm pretty good at mods. I just think I can do it a lot cheaper if I can find the materials I need. Have you ever seen the drivable campers with the auto steps? I've seen them on fire trucks also. That's what I'm talking about. I went to several camper sites but can't seem to find one.
By the way, do you know what a TO is, that's what Ozymandias called me in a earlier post, I don't know what that is. Hope it's not something bad.

Hi hi, it is Thread Opener - but Truck Owner is also a good to go.
I thought this shortcut is common in America, because we use TE in German - Thread Eröffner. :)

Got a new 5500 in November. I had it for 2 months without a bed. Ride was really rough. I had the leaf packs removed and a 4 bag air ride system install when the bed was installed. What a difference. It rides better than my old 3500. The air ride self levels. Add weight and it just pumps up.

MMeier has your solution and is what i was going to suggest, but if your not loading a heavy suspension, then your going to get a buck board ride. I put a 1000 miles on my 07 C&C W/O my bed when it was delivered, and it was a back breaking ride. You could get a steel plate installed in the bed so it will not take up alot of space. Sand bags would verify it is smoother with the weight, then get a steel plate that equals the same weight.

Here's a pic of my C&C on the way to Kansas to get the B&W flat bed installed.

The lower pic is a Liquid Spring http://www.liquidspring.com suspension ride developed for Ford passenger Vans and was later fitted to 4500 & 5500 Dodges, a bit pricey though.

Anyone know of a electrical steps for that truck, I'm not talking about running boards, I'm talking about the ones you see on campers, I can modify it to work, just can't seem to find anything. I have around 18" to 23"s to work with
Sorry for seeing this so late. try Kwikee. I have used them before. I looked them up on line and they are a current manufacture of RV steps. They may have what you are looking for. The 28 series is a single step, costs about $185.
DClark

They are 3195.
What do you mean when you say max rating and calling for are two different things?
I checked on the air ride seats, way out of my range, I can get a seat for my big truck for that cost. I have to do something, I love that truck but I wouldn't take it on a long trip unless I had a driving partner, it really does kill my back, it seems there is a space between my lower back and the back of the seat no matter how I adjust it, I have a round pillow in there now, it helps but no cigar..............................

Maybe what you need are some 4th gen seats. This one of my BEST mods i did for my Ram. 3rd gen seats are made for guys with real narrow butts and backs like a lego man. I found front and rear seats from a wrecked 2012 Ram 1500 and the fronts fit easy but the rear seats are some harder to put in. Get power seats [my truck had non-power] with power lumbar.#ad
