My dad was telling me about this stuff that you add to your oil every 4 oil changes or so. Its called MOTORKOTE has anyone ever heard of it????? IF so what do you think of it and good or bad feedback would be appriciated THANKS?

Motorkote - the Hyper Lubricant.

In my opinion, it's another snake oil product. They make claims like "substantial increase in gas mileage" and even have a testimonial about a guy who ran his engine with no coolant and it didn't overheat (ostensibly due to the Motorkote). They use that old classic "spinning bearing test". I consider these signs of clever marketing, nothing more.

Ask yourself: if an oil additive package could increase fuel economy 14%, horsepower 20%, prevent overheating, and make the entire engine and drivetrain last longer, why don't oil companies include that additive package instead of the ones they do?

I used to mess around with oil additives but no more. I tried ProLong for a while and then I did my own test on a little single cylinder Briggs and it didn't run long without oil. Even saw a comsumer report on the stuff where they tested two cars, one that had been treated with ProLong and the other not and they both died at the same time while running without oil.
