I found a local oil analysis company, "Lab one" here in Phoenix,Az. Good price and very nice folks. I'll see if I can post the results and maybe some of the Oil guru's can tell me good, bad, get rid of it or start riding a bicycle... ... The report said I had more miles on the oil. Keeping that in mind, I'll check when the "oil light" goes on and go an extra 500-+ miles and see what the lab says. Bought the "10" pack which makes the cost $7. 50 ea.

Hmmm. As soon as I figure out how to upload a text file and not fiddle with previous files, I up load it... ... It doesn't show a upload box like most do...

Because in my quest for "Hope and Change" ( I hoped using syn oil would yield better results-but nothing changed) I foolishly bought Syn oil, but you can bet I'll never do that again... Burned once and not again... .

So, the question for the warranty police is this:
If you change the oil every 7500 miles per the owners manual, but the light comes on before that, does that satisfy the warranty?

Per the manual, it's when the light comes on, but, no more than 7500 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first for 6. 7's.

Your signature lines shows a 2006. A different ball game.

If you reset the light, wouldn't the computer just see that you changed the oil?

FYI, my manual for our 2010 says to use synthetic 5w-40 if the temps are below 30. In a 6 month period we see that regularly, so folks like me in a colder climate must use synthetic to satisfy the warranty.

The problem comes if/when you have a failure and it appears that it might be from lack of maintenance. Then they are going to ask for proof of service at the proper interval. And the controller shows miles since reset. So take the chance if you want, but if it was my $15,000+ engine, I would rather buy some oil instead. The only defense you would have is having the lab results showing the oil still has service life. In the end, keep ALL your records.
Just remember that there are hardly any (actually none that I recall) chance of oil related failure if you just make an attempt to maintain the truck properly. There are far more dust out ruined engines from running aftermarket serviceable air filters.
