Question on oil analysis results:

For those of you that are doing engine oil analysis and have installed upgraded injectors / tweaked the VE Pump, what levels of fuel dilution and soot is showing in your analysis results?

FYI - mine is showing: . 5% fuel dilution, . 3% soot, TBN=6. 8, Vis=14. 8 on Chevron Delo 400 after 6000 miles of mostly urban driving. Oil was changed.

The level of fuel dilution seems kind of high as does the % soot.

THANKS!!

For what it's worth, here are the results on my last analysis. My oil is Royal Purple synthetic, 15w40. Milage was 9100 miles, oil was not changed based on results.

Fuel less than 2%, 2% is abnormal point. No actual reading

soot 0. 1%, abnormal point is 2%

TBN 10. 4 Base is 10

Vis 13. 9 Base is 14. 5

Each oil will have some numbers that are different so I don't think this will help much. The fuel and soot % won't matter as to oil type.

Oh yea, forgot to mention that I have a bypass filter and my total system capacity is 14 Qts. This will change the numbers a little also.
