These numbers represent 16,523 miles using Delo 5w/40 synthetic and an LF3894 filter. No filter changes or make-up oil added:
Aluminum: 2
Chromium: 1
Iron: 15
Copper: 2
Tin: 1
Silicon: 5
SUS Viscosity @ 210* F: 68. 7
Flaspoint in *F: 425
Fuel %: <0. 5
Antifreeze: 0. 0
Water %: 0. 0
Insolubles %: 0. 1
The "comments" section said the oil "could be run longer".
I changed the oil, oil filter, air filter at this time. Now I'm going to let it go 30,000 miles before I lift the hood. Don't hold your breath for the next analysis, it will take time to accumulate that many miles.
I have not changed the Delo 15W/40 in my tubo diesel JD backhoe in almost two years now, I just add some as it gets low. Runs fine but thinking of changing the oil. Might do an oil analysis on that. Won't those numbers be interesting!
