Oil Analysis

Just shipped my first ever oil sample into Oil Analyizers. What should I exspect for a 04. 5 with over 200K on the clock? A waste of time? :-laf



Changed the oil/filter today for the second time using the Amsoil 15w-40 heavy duty diesel oil. Untill recently, have been using dealer oil from new, so I'm wondering if this first test might not be legit.

Ummm, it's been brought to my attention how I misspoke in my thread.



I bought my truck new and have always had the dealer change my oil every 5k. Just recently, I changed to Amsoil so this would be my second time changing the oil with synthetic.



My wording makes it appear that I've only changed the oil twice in 200k (yikes)

Sounds perfectly clear to me, 2nd change of Amsoil and dealer oil up until then. I guess one could TRY to read something else into the statement but thats too much brain work for me.



See what the analysis says, then take 4 more before even considering too seriously what they are telling you. Oil analysis is like dyno tuning, its just a gauge to see if your going on the right direction. Takes more than 1 snapshot to get a valid trend.

Sorry Im the one that is having a hard time reading and focusing on the screen. I have spent the last 3 days with some hard drink-in (SHINE) people form Ky ,mule skinner forum I scribe to. They call it squiezzzzins just got taste buds to start working again :-laf Those folks are in a league ALL THEIR OWN!!!
